I created Living in the Danger Zones Podcast with a two fold mission in mind in regards to HOMEOWNERS / BUSINESSOWNERS / CONTRACTORS
1.) Over the years now I have seen and have been told by numerous homeowners and business owners who say they have wasted their time & money to hire a roofing or other construction type cladding contractors with no way of knowing if the contractor is really using the proper products they paid for and whether or not those products are installed correctly. Not all contractors are alike however there are lots of contractors out there good or bad who want to merely just take a owners $$money$$ and just quickly throw product up and move on to the next job and they do because there is no one there to watch or ensure it's done right especially a roof since most owners cannot get on the roof to check it out.
BEWARE!! If a contractors bid is too good to be true or is half the cost of what most other contractors bids are usually means they are cutting corners to make money and your home or business is at risk:
A.) Is quality work being performed
B.) Is proper installation techniques being followed as per the manufacturers guidelines or codes if applicable
C.) Is contractor using inferior products the owners didn't pay for
This happens a lot especially for those who live not only in hurricane prone coastal areas in Texas Windstorm Counties but in Non-Windstorm areas around Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio as well as all rural counties in Texas or anywhere else cladding products are installed in the US. .. I wanna help you the owner to ensure a Quality Control Inspector is overseeing your next roof or construction project and that the contractor will follow manufacturer instructions as well as the current codes & requirements if applicable which tend to have a few extra steps especially in Hurricane Windstorm Counties that have to be followed. Quality Control services should be a contingency included in a contract between the owner and contractor before they sign the said contract with agreement that a Quality Control Inspection hired and paid for by the owner is to be followed and passed by the Quality Control Inspectors request with an approved/disapproved report which the owner receives same day the job is completed by the contractor with report showing pics and listed onsite products as well as showing whether manufacturers instructions and/or applicable codes were followed before owner even signs a contract or pays a payment to any contractor..
2.) To coach & educate with video topics for home & business owners hopefully helping them before they waste their time or money that could possibly cost them $$Thousands$$...I want to explain the Windstorm process in layman terms for residents who what I call are Living in the Danger Zones whether designated Hurricane Zone counties or non-windstorm areas that have High winds & Hail as well as Tornado damage. Some topics ranging from how to find a competent contractor/vendor, to how to obtain windstorm certifications in Texas, even how to prepare your home for a storm event .
On a side note I also wanna help educate contractors with (Workshop Videos) especially for those who work or who wanna work in the Texas Windstorm Counties that touch coastal beach areas from Beaumont down to Brownsville, Tx.
