Hello my name is DJ "The Iceman" Freeze and I created Living in the Danger Zones Podcast because I love helping people especially you the owners to help educate and guide as many people as I can to make wise decisions on windstorm exterior alterations or product installations. This site will hopefully help anyone from wasting their good hard money unnecessarily and to hopefully keep you the owners from being duped by so-called contractors. Become a member and I will guide you to a list of contractors and/or vendors that have been known for their quality work and follow windstorm guidelines to get you certified the first time...There are those contractors out there who say they follow windstorm codes and in most cases they don't or they never paid an AQI Engineer/Inspector to inspect or apply for an application with TDI to obtain a WPI-8 certificate at all and there are a lot that will complete a job and leave after you've paid them and you find out later in the future when TWIA sends you a renewal letter stating that they will cancel your windstorm wind & hail policy because they need a "Certificate of Compliance" for your project and one was never started, done or even applied for and by then it's too late and guess what your paying for, yep unfortunately a really really expensive POST Forensic inspection that can range from $3,000-$10,000 in most cases in comparison to ongoing project inspections usually costing less than $500!!
I WANT TO HELP PREVENT THAT CATASTROPHE!!!
