Exterior Structures either constructed or improved in alterations or cladding products (including roofing, siding, windows, doors, garage doors, decks, stairway or walkways, pergola, porch cover, shutter systems and new build projects and many more) within certain Texas designated Windstorm Catastrophe Areas require certification for the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) for eligibility must obtain a Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) Certificate of Compliance (WPI-8/WPI-8-E) Certificate. Windstorm inspections are performed by inspectors during construction through AQI Texas licensed professional engineers who can approve projects as per IRC/IBC codes. LITDZ can recommend an experienced AQI engineer based where your project is located. Members are advised to check with DJ "The Iceman" Freeze via email or schedule a video meet to help find one. LITDZ assumes no responsibility if an AQI Engineer that was not referred by LITDZ is being used for failure to obtain required windstorm certifications as required."
